Default A Lesson in Patience

I have been working on a sock monkey quilt and everything was going great, until I had a machine crisis. I switched to a different machine, forgetting it does not have a walking foot. Impatiently, I went ahead and sewed the sashing and borders down without using a walking foot. The result was lots of waves and ripples, it was a disaster. I considered leaving it as is, but could not stomach the thought of explaining the boo boos to whoever got it. I realized the only way out was to rip out the sashing and border sewing. My lesson was sitting patiently for three evenings, and over ten hours, of picking out what I had sewn in haste. This morning I picked off the lint and starched and pressed. The quilt is sitting on my design wall, my lesson in patience.
