Oh that's a LONG drive! I would love to see some of the cousins I have left there although it isn't the same since great-aunt died. She was the one holding us all together. I'm the only one out on east side of country since grandpa left Utah and never went home. Married the bosses daughter and settled in MI. I'm not sure if family really forgave him, both for that and not staying with LDS church. We always felt welcome when we visited but it was thru his brothers and sisters. She has been gone for 8 years now and I have really got to get that machine out of friends parlor. What happens if something would happen to them? As it was, they had to get out of my great-aunts house really quickly when estate was being closed. She had left a note on it saying it was to go to me. Boy did that cause a fuss after she died. The attorney actually intimated that I had forged the note and the signature was not hers! I was livid. Oh well, I was lucky I had made friends a couple of doors down during my visits and she and DH came and moved it to their house. I would have lost it if it had not been from them. It is so heavy because of the metal on the treadle. There are drawers on either side; they are curved. It is a really pretty cabinet. I'm not sure the make of the machine but it is not a Singer. If I remember correctly, it has lots of pretty gold engraving on it. I just don't know how I would drive out there and back myself. DH can't take time off, course I would not go in winter anyways. Going over the pass in CO in winter would be a real bear. There has got to be a reputable moving company out there.
