Default EQ7 question on fabric requirements & rotary cutting directions

As I'm learning more about my EQ7 program, one feature that I'm disappointed in is that rotary cutting directions to print out don't seem to use any techniques where you use strip pieced (i.e. for a 4 patch vs. cutting 4 individual squares), use a rectangle & 2 squares for flying geese, or a no waste method on FG, etc--basically no efficient methods. Instead it appears that the assumption is you will use templates or at the very least inefficient methods. Am I missing something here?
