I agree with sewingSuz...I hate alterations!!! Trouble is that those that need them don't like to pay what it's worth to have done it. A lady just picked up a lightweight fall jacket w/a quilted hood that she brought to me FIVE years ago and wanted me to remove the hood. Told her then that it would impossible to do with how she wanted it done but she insisted that she leave it with me. I hung it in the coat closet and removed it from there when she picked it up; in the same condition as when she left it. The same lady once asked me if I would happen to have a jacket zipper that would fit her son-in-laws coat. I pulled the heavy duty zipper out of my little tote and handed it to her----then she says, "Can you put it in?" It was easy to say "NO, they are too time consuming". They expect stuff done for 'little or nothing' and I need the time to do my own sewing.
