Absolutely beautiful! And thank you for sparking an idea with your slit center block....I am working on a tree skirt for my son and his family, and struggling with how to bring the open sides together because they want to be able to rotate the skirt......they use an artificial tree, and I think just binding the center opening and sewing up the "side seam" may work!
