i love this site - I get so many ideas from all of you. My youngest will be on the east coast for a few years and working insane hours at a hospital from now til january. This will be the first christmas that our family will not be together. Christmas decorating and taking care of a tree will not be a priority for her. I think I will make several of these trees out of her favorite fabrics (dr. who, harry potter, snowmen, etc) and a small table topper and send them to her. That way she can have decorations without the time or effort and feel a connection to us. This will also be a perfect setting for her 'gifts'. We have made a box full of small items numbered as sort of an advent calendar thing, so she can open one a day. (She will also miss out on thanksgiving and her birthday on dec 3rd.)
