I made a quilt for my 13 year old grandson and he loved it, it was the zipper quilt from Missouri star quilt company, it was a fast and easy quilt to make, the quilt that I am referring to is the one that you see when my name comes up.. I made it in real bright colors and used a jelly roll as everything is 2.5 inch strips.. you can look up the tutorial on Missouri star quilt company site..It is so nice of you to do this for the boys, and as far as the boys liking or not liking a quilt, I am sure they would love to have one of the very own..good luck
