I guess I still don't understand. Is the large poppy print cut at all or is it the backing? Do you stack 5 layers of the same print and only cut the top three? I made a chenille panel quilt for our DGS pictured below. I layered a coordinating print wrong side up for the backing, then four panels right sides up. Channel quilted 1/2" apart and cut the top three panel layers. Since the panel was narrow, I added the camo borders after I cut, but before I washed it. Quilted the borders and then bound it. Washed it numerous times to fluff. It creates a kind of softened picture of the original panel. Mine was all flannel. Is this how you stacked your poppy?
