We put the updates on two iPhones and an iPad with absolutely no difficulties. I LOVE Apple! I have an iMac and everything is so seamless. check your cloud settings. Call Apple - they will help you. 1-800-MY-APPLE. You can google and usually there are solutions on some board/forum or another. Some updates are not trivial and help your device run smoother.
