The broken lines are the sewing lines. The solid lines are the cutting lines. Often times, I will cut the squares apart into individual (makes 2 the same) units. If I want or need lots of the same HST, I will cut 2 pieces of fabric the size of the printer paper, put right sides of fabric together and pin in the corners. Then I just sew on the broken lines, cut apart on the solid lines. Remove paper, press triangles open and cut off "ears". Accurate HST every time. Hope this helps...
thanks. I am going to have to try this method if we do more HST. I just couldn't decide if it was best to work with individual squares, or rows/strips or the entire printed page.
