Thank you everyone! Yes mary r, it is a feathered star paper pieced. Someone asked about the fraying of the cutwork in the borders, the layers are fused with a thin double sided fusible, so fraying could occur, but since it is a wallhanging I don't plan to wash it often. That would be a potential problem on something you would wash more often.
