Default Bookcase Wallhanging with interesting story

Here is a picture of my finished wallhanging that I made for my friend Vicky. She found the picture on Pinterest and asked me to make her one. I went looking for the artist who had created the original bookcase quilt. I did find her - in the Netherlands! Her site was in Dutch, but I guessed at a few things and was able to contact her. Fortunately she did read and write English. Her name is Willeke de la Chambre. I told her that I would be drafting a pattern for the bookcase quilt and I think I will send her a copy when done. Here is Willeke's response (make sure you go to the link as well - it shows the work in progress by the ladies):

Hello Janice,

As far as I know, there is no pattern.
The bookshelf quilt is made bij Marijke.
She asked us, the participants of a block-swap, to make a block (20x20 cm) by our own design.
The only thing she asked us, was to use a light fawn fabric as back ground.

We were allowed to put some sculptures (or something like that) between. Just as we would do at our shelfs at home
The cat is a picture of Marijke's cat, printed at fabric.
It was the block she made herself.
I also think she designed the clock herself. As did she with the scissors etc.
After that... she arranged all the blocks, the way she likes it.

I wish you a lot of succes. Ik hope this is a bit helpful (and that can you understand my 'English')
Kind regards, Willeke

Isn't that nice?
