I hate doing anything that takes more time especially on a binding. What I do is sew the binding through all layers from the front and cut off the extra quilt materal in the seam allowance. Now the easy part. Turn your binding to the back and use the 1/4" "steam a seam". Place the tape between the the binding and quilt and iron. It holds it in place as you sew. Steam a seam is a trade name but any fusible that is 1/4" wide would do. Hope this helps
