I'm not sure where your nowheresville is, but even from my little blip on the map I have access to two thrift stores within three miles of me. Old class 66 bobbins seem to be better than the new ones out of China. Have you found Shopgoodwill.com online? When I google sewing or sewing accessories, bobbins often come up. Just be aware of the price to mail to you.
