I have this machine, the first new machine I ever owned. It does take 66 metal bobbin, originally. I have used plastic and they are quieter. This machine is noisy and that is not all so bad. It made the most beautiful satin stitch of any machine I have ever used. For the money, $150, it was a good and serviceable machine. I still have it, but don't use it much any more, but in case of need, rest assured, it will serve again.
