Default Home is Where the Heart Is!

I made this quilt for my daughter's HS graduation. . . I just finished it. . . only 6 months late! Over a year ago, I asked her what style/color quilt she would like and since she's a teenager, I assumed she would want something bright and "funky". She surprised me by choosing MY favorite style and color palette! Like mother, like daughter I guess! She also surprised me by asking if I could put our house in the center! My husband and I designed the house square and I made a wide variety of 6 inch blocks from several different sources including Farmer's Wife, Teach Yourself Blocks from the Past, and Quilt in a Day Underground Railroad Sampler. Our local LAQ, Suzanne Harris, did a beautiful job with the quilting - she even quilted shingles on the roof!
