I've enjoyed this thread, I didn't know either about the magnetic rods. I too use magnets on my metal door, however on the inside because my front faces south and the sun is brutal. In addition I am able to enjoy my wallhangings. And I too use magnets on my outside refrigerator for wallhangings too. I purchased some that look like silver push pins from valley something catalog on line. calla
