I hadn't sewn for over six months, so when one of the local quilts shops started having a Second Saturday Sew-in once a month, I decided to give it a try. I figured carting my stuff to the shop for 7 hours of sewing without any distractions or guilt might just break the inertia and get me moving forward again.

It seems to be working and the interest shown by the other attendees, none of whom I knew that first day, in what I am working on is added motivation. We laugh and joke and teach and learn and everyone gets a lot done. This weekend will be my third month of going and the project I've been taking should be finished by the end of the day.

I think for many of us 'solo quilters', sometime we just get in a rut. Stirring things up a bit can really help break you out of the trance.
