My understanding of these bowl potholders is for protecting our hands when 'heating' something up, not cooking. I have some bowls that I use for a minute in the micro and man, they are hot-hot when you go to grab the bowl.
BTW, great discussion on this topic. We always want to be safe with gifts of love we make for others.
The above is the name of the batting used for microwave projects. If you read the fiber contents on Warm and Natural you will see that it is not 100% cotton even thought it is considered cotton batting. I have heard many horror stories about fires in microwaves using Warm and Natural. I wouldn't chance ruining my microwave - a lot more costly than a package of batting!
