Default Rooster Panel Quilt

This was a panel I picked up for 5 or 6 bucks the last time we drive through western Virginia. I thought I'd use it for practicing on my LA, to try out some things. The original panel had another row of small birds across the top -- I took that off, and added the outer two borders (1/2 inch red, and wider blue one).

I named this one "Why did the Rooster Cross the Road?"

My favorite part of this is the chicken wire quilting in the blue border. It went really quickly and looks pretty neat.

I didn't like the way my travel stitches showed between the blue and red, so when I took it off the frame, I used my dsm to put a decorative stitch along that edge. I liked it so much I did another one on the inner small 1/4 inch red square, and also used the same stitch to attach the binding.

Finally, I didn't do much quilting on the roosters (just the tail feathers), and after binding it all, I decided to finish them off with a few beads
