Default Another Finish - Vintage Rose Print Scrappy Patchwork

Here is another one that managed to be saved from our old home -- but happily this was above the flood waters. I think I started cutting this out free hand at the height of my why-fuss-with-measuring stage quite a number of years ago. Fortunately I grew out of that mess -- to some degree -- and was able to square the blocks. I also discovered that there is one little piece that is sewn in wrong side forward. Ha! You'll have to hunt to find it.

A good thing I pre-washed the backing -- which fit perfectly beforehand. I found it to be 6" too narrow so it now has a lovely racing stripe down the center! I did stitch in the ditch, but I think it could really use dense quilting. Maybe one day. It's a very large quilt with 77 squares so not today. The bottom line: nothing I make is perfect, but everything I make is beautiful, quirky, and a little bit off kilter. You'll never find any of it in a pattern book. And that's OK.
