Just weighing in but please do not consider me the quilt police. I would venture to guess that anything older than a year since being worked on, would be, in my humble opinion, a UFO. I know it sometimes takes me a year to complete a quilt and that seems a fair amount of time. I know ladies in my Guild get one done about every 6 weeks and that is a total finish down to binding and label. I also do not count my kits that I have not even begun to cut but are waiting patiently in their box or bag. I have lots of orphan blocks and they too, do not go into the count. They may become a quilt one day but are not a 'begun project..per se. Would love to hear what others of you think but once again, being all different, we all have different standards.
On to other comments...Macybaby..(Cathy) (post 174).Wow! you are so organized. I think it would help to lay things out like you have done to see what all you have. I am envious of your wonderful organization. Judy in AZ..I like the idea of working on UFO's in small amounts of time. TKHooper, I am like you in that I have more time at the first of the year than at the last so early months are better for me to get things done. I am really trying to not start anything else until I finish at least one of my most recent projects. Took a class in October and I just may get the last two borders on tomorrow. Then will have to make the backing. I am still plugging away on my hand quilting 'UFO' but we don't watch movies more than twice a week and if I have to read the CC at bottom then I don't quilt as much. Love seeing everyone's resolve. Better quit writing before you all tell me to be quiet and get back to my quilting! LOL!
