It is from the late 50's /early 60's My Dad has been using it for over 3 yrs and loves it. It is easy to use and stays sharp. He can't stand the noise the electric ones make-
My mother had one of the Swing-Away's like that and it was the best opener ever. I have one that is hand held that I have had for about 6-10 years and it does a really good job. Not quite as good as the really old one but very acceptable.
