I am quite sure that I would take it out and re-do it according to my original plan. However, I would re-do one or two of the blocks and put them back together to be sure that it was really what I envisioned. Then, if I was sure about the new look I would schedule the block deconstruction, one or two at a time, into some days. That way it won't be a daunting task.
