Since she suggested modern, I'd go with straight lines. Colors below are not the suggested thread colors, just something that seemed to show up on my computer. For the triangles in the border, I tried to make them angle out to encompass 2 mini triangles. I'd mark where my binding comes in so as not to lose the points of the quilted triangles once the binding is attached.
EDIT: I realized those weren't pieced triangles but prairie points, so I edited my design to put triangles in the actual border. You'll also want to consider how the lines play with the green triangles along the edge when choosing which way to make the lines go. You could definitely just go with an every which way design to make it easier on yourself. No matter what, it's a beautiful quilt! Can't wait to see the final photo!
