Now I KNOW some of you may think NO WAY to much work to do
all that, and that is fine everyone IS entitled to their own opinions.

For ME this is what I chose to do, I want to be able to look at my
fabric and see how much is there. By doing it this way eventually
the hope is to NOT buy so much fabric and start using what I have
in my own "fabric store".

I go to the Dollar Tree and buy the colored index cards. Sometimes
they have the neon colors (like in the picture) and sometimes they
have pastel colors.

Usually I take all my index cards and comic boards to FedEx Office
and have them to cut the bundles for me (much faster, and less wear
& tear on the body). However for the sake of taking these photos I just
cut them buy hand.

Cut the cards in eights (1/8) as in the picture). I laid out 1 of each color
in the bundle of cards.

Next I created using MS Word, and Avery labels #5195 return address

For my comic boards some are cut in half (1/2), and some in quarters (1/4).
Fabric that is 1 yard or more (up to 2 yards) gets folded onto a full board.

The 1/2 (length cut) boards get fabric that is any length x full WIDTH of fabric
(9"x42" etc). UP to 35 inches.

Fat Quarters and Fat Eights go on the 1/4 cut boards.

I make a label for EACH board with fabric. I circle FQ F8 Half, or I write in
the measurement of the fabric.

I use a BLANK piece of index card to write "PANEL" with measurements
of the panel.

Sure hope I didn't over do my explanation of my folding/labeling system.

i like systems, although I'm better at creating than maintaining them! I'm still not sure (maybe you explained and I missed it) but

Do your colors mean something?
Does it cost to have them cut?
Have you found it a bother to remeasure, rewrap, and relabel a piece after you've used part of it?
