I bought a fabric from Hoffman called "Party On Confetti" with a black background:

For what I want to do, I need some solid black to go with it, but when I held it up to the black I have on hand (probably Kona), it didn't really match. I'm wondering if the Confetti background black would match Hoffman's solid black, or if it's just as much a toss-up as it matching any other brand of black solid. I've emailed Hoffman but haven't heard back yet.
Anyone else have any luck matching background color to solid color in fabrics that aren't already coordinated in the same line? Thanks!
