See if your library has "The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook" by Charlene Phillips. This book does not have anything on the buttonholer you have pictured, but it seems to me that there is an ISMACS section on attachments.
has information on ruffler use, more written than you thought possible with this one attachment, at least 30 pages with excellent pictures. This link was shared with 4-H helpers, but available to all.
