How big is it? If it's too big, it may pucker anyway, simply because it is normal for the quilt to draw up 1-3 inches when being quilted.
Size - it's 60" x 56"....and I've been considering tying as a quilting option. It would get it done fast and still hold together well. I intend to run the edge through my machine so it looks like binding and has a more finished look.
I think tying it would be your best bet and you wouldn't have to worry about the quilt being drawn up and puckering.
