Here is the response I got from the EQ6 Forum.

"I think applique would be easier too, but piecing would work fine. It doesn’t sound like he wants to do curved piecing, I think he wants to change the curves to half-square triangle blocks.

So set up a horizontal quilt with the number of blocks across and down that will be in the finished quilt. Set the size of the blocks to the desired size of one of the individual squares. It looks like there are about 33 squares across in the sketch, so I’d set each block to 2”, giving a finished width to the quilt of 66”.

Get the half square block from the library, set that into the curved spots in the quilt, rotating where necessary, and color the quilt."

I will probaly tweek this a little because I was thinking maybe doing 4" blocks so the HST's won't be so small. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.
