Thank you!!! Just as I needed some info, it magically appears in front of me. LOL. I help with Boxer Luv Rescue in Phoenix and was just asked to make some doggie coats (big LOL) from a mesh fabric (something I have never sewn) with vinyl pockets (which I have never sewn) on the sides to put papers in. The pups wear these to events to advertise they are available for adoption.

I thought I knew what the answer would be and it was....bias binding on the edges. This website has instructions for making a mesh beach bag which is sorta similar to what you want to do.
