I paperpiece a lot, and I use the Twiddletails method, too, and would never go back to tearing off paper again. But Susiesew might be right about learning the basic method first. I used the traditional method for a while before I stumbled upon the freezer paper method, and it might have helped me understand the concept better. Or who knows? I might have been fine with the freezer paper from the beginning.
