Default A UFO no more! "Oh My Stars!"

7-8-9-or more?? years ago (I'm not really sure--note to self: Make more notes!!) I pieced a bunch of star blocks from the book 'Stars by Magic' by Nancy Johnson-Srebro. Looking back at my younger quilter self, I bit off a whole pile more than I could chew! Despite claiming to be a new super easy, diamond free technique, this book's method, with all its bias edges, is not for the faint of heart or the inexperienced! Interestingly enough, I did quite a decent job of the centers of those stars, but oh my stars--excuse the pun--the size of the blocks and the outside edges were all over the place!

But I persevered and with diligent use of 'persuasion' and 'fudging of seams' (this top should have more calories than a pound of chocolate!!) I managed to put together a king sized top. It was always meant for our bed and if I am honest, standing at the doorway of our bedroom, it doesn't look too bad. And thank goodness, once it is quilted no one will ever see the backside of this top!! Thank goodness!

So here it is in all its imperfect glory. "Oh My Stars!" And I did manage to keep most of the points intact! Thanks for looking.
