Hi, and welcome!
I just tried this out, and I found it easiest to add a grid and trace as a block.
I started a new project. In the "Work on Block" screen, I switched to the "Tracing Image" tab (lower left).
Click the "Import Image" button in the upper left, just below the main toolbar. It looks like a picture of a desert, with a green arrow pointing up. Choose your picture at the dialog. You can crop it by dragging the handles on the preview picture.
It will take you to the main screen again, with a cursor that says "Click = inside fit, Shift+click = outside fit, OR drag to place image". I don't know what this means, so I just moved to the upper left and clicked. Your picture should now be visible.
At the bottom of the screen, switch to the EasyDraw tab.
Now you can adjust the block size and graph paper cells, just above the picture. I set the block size to the size I want the quilt to be. Play with the graph paper cells and snaps to get a grid you like.
You can then trace the picture using the pencil tools on the left - one does straight lines, the other does curves.
When you're done tracing, switch to the Color tab at the bottom and color it in. Then add it to your sketchbook and finish it off!
I hope this helps... if not, I can add a couple pictures this evening.
