I have a very high queen size bed. I make my quilts about 120 x 120. they go below the box spring. I quilt mine by hand in sections. I wash them in a regular home machine. Most Laundromats use recycled water. that's the funky smell you smell sometimes at them. Yes, your delicates are being washed in the same water as poopy diapers, and dog barf. I use smaller ones too for the holidays. the smaller quilts like my EPP3/4" GFG is my cats and she loves it. Smaller ones go for the front door. also bed runners are nice too.
