There have been other posts, I believe, using a PVC system to suspend quilts to make them easier to quilt, but I used Leah Day's system and had my DH put utility handles into the studs of the ceiling. I hung bungie cords from them and DH drilled a hole in each handle of the plastic clamps to hook on to the other end. Tried it this week and it makes a world of difference for me. Yes, you have to adjust the clamps periodically as you go across the quilt, but it prevents the edges of the quilt from falling off the table (front, back or side) and lifts a lot of the weight so you don't have as much to move. When I get closer to the edges, I just release a clamp or two. The clamps are plastic, and lock with pressure, but release with a lever, so you don't have to apply a lot of pressure as there are no springs. I love it. Here are a few pics to show you the set up. I have a 6 ft. table on my Tiara, but I believe Leah uses a DSM. The quilt shown is in a previous post:

To shorten the bungies, I just twist the clamps so the cord is through the mouth of the clamp, and then clamp the quilt. You can see in the last pic that the clamps on the left are higher than the released clamps on the right. Just a thought to share an idea that may work for you.
