the other day I was doing a precut block from a JAF BOM....anyway, I am a side presser, but decided to try open seams, just to see if there was any difference.....well, took longer to press because I had to open those seams and be careful not to burn fingertips---- have a little clover mini, but didn't have it handy......then I'm noticing as I'm opening, ironing, sewing those seams together the last stitch on the seam is loosening or undoing.....yes used the thread cutter on machine. So as I'm assembling pieces, I'm thinking...maybe this is why some have unravelling seams when they've completed quilts and washed them...some seams may have been compromised .......just a thought. And I will go back to my way of pressing to the side.
