ditto - I was amazed at what a difference it make just wiping it down with sewing machine oil and cotton balls.
I think most of the old treadle manuals (like for the 66, 27 & 15) will tell where to oil the treadle to keep it moving smoothly. I don't remember if there are oil holes, but I think so and if so make sure they are cleaned out so that the oil gets to where it is supposed to go.
