Miranda,
I can identify with a lot that you are saying. The year that I retired my husband and I sold our house that we'd lived in for 30+ years and moved north. I left the county that I'd grown up in to come up here where the only people I know are my brother and sister-in-law. I don't make friends easily. There are times I just get real blue (cabin fever?) and wish I was back in southern California with my old teaching buddies and the warm sunshine!
Being a SAHM is a wonderful occupation. I wish I could have had that experience but alas it was not to be. As wonderful as it is though it's one of the hardest jobs around and doesn't always get the respect it should receive. My daughter, another SAHM, calls often and I know it's just so she can talk to an adult for awhile.
Thank goodness for the internet. It does help us retain our sanity and keep in touch with the real (?) world! Hang in there and write whenever you feel the need!
