Does anybody have the old fashioned, from scratch, recipe for butterscotch pie? My mother made it using canned milk and I would love to have the recipe. When I was a kid (over 60 years ago) for his birthday Dad never wanted a cake... he always wanted a Butterscotch or a Chocolate Pie. Mom made the best and I would love to have the recipe again.
I don't know if this will help, but it was my mother's recipe and a family favorite:
Carmel Pie
3 tbls. flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tbls. butter
2 egg yolks
2 cups milk.
Mix sugar and flour. Add eggs yolks and milk. Cook all together until mixture thickens. Flavor with
vanilla.
