that's what I would do too. I chain piece two at a time starting at the left. I put the right piece on top of the left and continue chain piecing THAT ROW. Then go back and join 4 at a time, again putting right side on top of left. I complete one row at a time. Before I press, I also decide which way I am pressing the seams for rows 1,3,5,7,etc and then press the opposite way for rows 2,4,6,8,etc.
