I really like having access to older posts as they are a treasure of information. When people add on to an older post, I view it as an updating of a topic and like it. The Advance Search suggestions should help you.

When I first joined this board, if a question was posed that had already been discussed, sure as can be someone would post a link with the comment "that's already been answered, please read the discussion here". While it always made me feel like a slacker because I hadn't done my homework - just gone and posted my question - with the overwhelming number of people asking the same thing over and over again now, I kind of miss those reprimands.
