Weighing late, but I have the silhouette cameo. It cuts fabric great, but I find you really need to stiffen the fabric with spray starch or terial magic to get consistently good cuts. I really like the large cutting mat but was a little bummed that the designer software was extra. The main selling point for me is importing SVG files into their software. I design in Illustrator and can export right to SVG. I believe the brother machine is possible, but it's a bit of a work around (there's a tutorial here for using SVG on brother's machine: http://www.chatterboxquilts.com/blog...her-scan-n-cut).

Neither one is what I would call "user friendly" but if you are familiar with using an embroidery machine & software, cutting machines are similar.

So... what'd did you get?
