Or one that is way stubborn. I have a stubborn dog, so I can empathize with you. We have leather furniture in the living room, and our dog ( a boxer) would not stay off of it. I put tissue paper under a blanket and covered the couch with that. He did not like the crinkly feel/sound and after about 3 jumps up on it, he stopped. He hasn't jumped on it for 3 years now. I think the foil might work. My friend put foil in the baby's bed (before the baby got here) to break her cats from jumping up in the bed. She's had no problems with the cats and the baby bed.
