We cut it off as close to the pit as possible and either eat it with the peel or eat the meat off of the peel. The pit is still left with tons of the best juicy meat so that goes to one of the little kids to scrape off with their teeth but indeed it is a mess. Oh and I need dental floss afterwards.
I'll tackle a mango any day over bothering with a pomegranate. We have pomegranate trees and they are so healthy and expensive in the store but I can just not handle that red mess. The kids have a hay day with them but I make them sit outside.
