I wouldn't worry about the motor - I suspect this is one of the many machines that was manufactured in Great Britain, then shipped to Canada where a motor was added. This was done to reduce the import tariffs. I would be very surprised if it didn't already run on 120V. (I suspect this is why potted motor machines are far less common in Canada.)
