I've never even thought about a door hanging, but our house faces north so a hanging would never receive sunlight, although of course, over time, fabrics fade anyway.
This is hanging on the inside of the door. With our crazy weather, I couldn't hang it outside. It's a metal door so I bought a magnetic rod to hang it from.
