Default My Seasonal Birds Lap Quilt top is finished

Over in the main section I ask for help to decide how to do the borders for my seasonal lap quilt and got so many great ideas. But I decided to keep it simple so the large bird blocks would stay the focus. So I stitched a border using the reverse side of the green fabric that is sashing between the birds and outlined it all with black. I'm very happy with it. I tend to make traditional quilts but with my border choice I think it leans a little on the modern side.

The large bird blocks for each season are appliqued. I copied them from an 1880's audubon coloring book that I've had for years. The little bird blocks are from a fabric panel. And I used embroidery, pigma pens, inktense pencils and fabric paint to embellish them. This will be a QS sample for the needle turn applique classes that I teach.

Thanks for looking.... you are always so helpful when I have questions.
