I loved the old gauze ones from back in the 1960s. I can't remember the brand name of them now - but they were rectangular, the middle was two layers of fabric and the selvages were pinked and single layer.
The box was pink, white, and blue.
They were quick drying and "adjustable" - with folding!
They make the best dishtowels and mop-up cloths.
I wanted to buy some more and have not seen that brand for years in the store. I checked e-bay a couple of years ago and they were going for waaaaaay more than I was willing to pay - like $50 to $100 a dozen!
But - if they are not what you want - do return them.
