I always just overlap. I have also been frugal at times and have done a quick basting of scraps to get a piece big enough to fit larger hoops. I buy my stabilizer on ebay by the bolt. I used to do TONS of embroidery and I am only about a 1/3 of the way through that bolt. Saved me tons, so I don't mind overlapping and now tossing scraps
